Downtown lofts to established family neighborhoods

Opelika’s downtown revitalization has changed the kind of moves we run here. Old mill buildings along South Railroad Avenue and near the historic depot have been converted into loft apartments and condos, and those jobs come with their own logistics — narrow freight elevators or, in some of the smaller converted buildings, no elevator at all, just a stairwell that used to move cotton bales and now has to fit a sectional sofa.
