Packing is the part of a move that eats the most time and causes the most damage when it’s rushed, which is exactly why Renee Hargrove’s crew exists as its own specialty inside Atomic Moving and Labor. Renee normally leads our labor-only loading crews, but she’s built out a packing team that runs ahead of move day and treats packing as a skilled job in its own right, not something bolted onto the loading crew’s morning.

How Full-Service Packing Works

A packing crew shows up a day or two ahead of your move, works room by room, and labels every box by destination room and contents so unloading day goes fast. Kitchens, with their breakables and odd-shaped items, usually get their own dedicated packer rather than being split across the crew. Closets, garages, and off-season storage areas get sorted and boxed the same way.

  • Room-by-room packing with content and destination labeling
  • Specialty boxes and materials for dishware, glassware, artwork, and electronics
  • Wardrobe boxes so closet contents move on hangers, not folded into boxes
  • Partial packing options if you want to handle some rooms yourself and hand off the rest

Full Pack vs. Partial Pack

Not every household wants or needs everything packed by a crew. Some customers pack their own clothes and personal items but want the kitchen and garage handled professionally. We quote both ways — a full pack covering the entire house, or a partial pack targeting specific rooms — so you’re not paying for packing help you don’t need.

Unpacking on the Other End

Renee’s crew also offers unpacking at your new address, which matters most on long-distance and PCS moves where you’re trying to get a household functional again on a tight timeline. Boxes come off in the room they’re labeled for, and on request the crew will unpack kitchens and closets so you’re not living out of boxes for the first two weeks in a new house.

Fragile and Odd Items

Mirrors, artwork, glass tabletops, and electronics get their own packing approach rather than generic bubble wrap and a box. If your move also includes a piano or a gun safe, those get handled by our specialty rigging crew separately — packing and heavy specialty items are coordinated together so nothing gets missed on move day.

Really professional. There seems to be an employee there to pick up the slack if ever any. It makes for an otherwise stressed situation, perfect. Thanks.

Questions that come up on this job

Answered before you have to ask twice

Can we pack some rooms ourselves and have your crew handle the rest?
Yes, we offer partial packing that targets specific rooms like the kitchen or garage while you handle personal items and closets yourself. Just tell us which rooms you want covered when you book.
How far ahead of move day does packing happen?
Typically a day or two before your move, depending on the size of the home and how much needs to be packed. Renee's team schedules packing separately from the loading crew so nothing feels rushed.
Do you offer unpacking at the new house too?
Yes, unpacking is available at delivery, with boxes opened and contents placed in the labeled room. This is especially useful on long-distance and PCS moves when you need the house functional fast.
How do you handle fragile items like artwork and glass tabletops?
Fragile and irregularly shaped items get specialty materials and dedicated handling rather than being boxed the same way as everything else. Mirrors, glass, and electronics are packed separately with extra protection.
